Sure, well for starters, in photoshop, if you increase the clarity and exposure a bit, you’d have more to look at.

Second, one thing that’s really important in photography is to draw the eye of the viewer towards an element of the image. When a picture is so dark, there’s really not much to look at. If you highlight a specific portion of an image, or focus on something specific, the viewer’s eyes are drawn toward that element.
